Tripiti Beach lies on the southern coast of Gavdos near the island's famous rock arches and giant chair viewpoint. It is a walking destination that needs time and preparation rather than a quick beach transfer.
Beach Setting & Facilities
Sand, pebbles and larger stones vary along the shore. The arches and exposed coastal landscape are the main landmarks, while normal resort services are absent.
Plan a self-sufficient visit. Bring drinking water, food and sun protection, and take everything away with you. Do not expect toilets, showers, rental equipment or lifeguard cover to be available.
Things to Do at Tripiti Beach, Gavdos
Enjoy the beach landscape and viewpoint from safe ground. Photographing the arches does not require climbing on their edges or entering the water beneath them.
How to Get There
Follow the established walking route from Korfos or another locally advised route. Carry enough water and plan the return; the final coast does not have ordinary road access.
Check the current ANENDYK ferry timetable and operating notices before planning connections.
Is It Suitable for Families?
This is a remote outing for well-prepared visitors, not a convenient choice for a casual day with toddlers. Access, heat and return logistics should decide whether it suits your group. Do not rely on the beach being quiet as a reason to overlook those requirements.
Where to Stay
Choose a Gavdos base around confirmed ferry plans, your walking ability and the services operating for your dates. Karave, Sarakiniko and Korfos offer different arrival and beach logistics. Remote island shores are easier to enjoy when accommodation, drinking water and local transfers are arranged before you set out.
Practical Tip
Be precise when arranging directions: this is Tripiti on Gavdos, not Tripiti on the mainland Sfakia coast. Avoid exposed rock edges, especially in wind.
