How to Get There
Approach from the western side of Georgioupolis using the established road or walking access. Do not cross river channels or use an improvised shoreline shortcut.
Is It Suitable for Families?
Choose an appropriate bathing section away from river outlets and harbour activity. Cooler or shallow-looking moving water is not automatically suitable for children. Follow current local advice, particularly after rain, and keep young swimmers close.
Where to Stay
Kalyves, Almyrida and Georgioupolis offer different seaside bases within the wider Apokoronas area. Choose a beach village for easy swimming sessions or an inland village if you prefer a rural setting and have transport. Check your actual route to the shore rather than relying on a straight-line distance.
Practical Tip
Keep children away from the active river outlet. Shallow-looking moving water deserves more caution than a still sandy bathing area.
