Kedrodasos Beach: White Sand and a Fragile Juniper Landscape

Kedrodasos Beach offers white sand, turquoise shallows and a protected juniper landscape close to Elafonisi. Its natural appearance is the reason to visit, and also the reason to tread lightly.

Beach Setting & Facilities

Sand is interrupted by flat rocks and small coves. There are no resort services on the shore, and the presence of junipers should not be treated as an invitation to set up equipment on branches or roots.

Plan a self-sufficient visit. Bring drinking water, food and sun protection, and take everything away with you. Do not expect toilets, showers, rental equipment or lifeguard cover to be available.

Things to Do at Kedrodasos Beach

Swim when conditions suit and take a slow walk on existing paths. Snorkelling close to shore can be enjoyable in calm water, provided you avoid rocks and stay aware of changing wind.

How to Get There

Reach the recognised parking approach and walk the final section to the beach. Check local road conditions and your rental agreement before using rough tracks.

Is It Suitable for Families?

Consider the final walk as well as the beach itself. Families need manageable bags, footwear and enough energy for the return. If you need easy pushchair access or dependable shade, inspect the approach before committing to a full day.

Where to Stay

For this part of the west coast, compare a local village stay with a base in Kissamos or Paleochora. A room closer to your main beach can save repeated winding drives, while a larger settlement gives you more choices for meals and supplies. Check the actual road route before deciding.

Practical Tip

Carry all your supplies and take every item back out. Stay off vegetated dunes and leave sand, shells and wood in place.
